Even Realities has released v2.2.0 for its G2 smart glasses, introducing Terminal Mode — a new heads-up display feature that lets software developers monitor AI coding agents and send approvals directly from their glasses without touching a phone or laptop.
How Terminal Mode Works
Terminal Mode surfaces real-time status indicators on the G2's microLED display — Thinking, Executing, and Listening — so developers can track what their AI agent is doing at a glance. When the agent needs input, whether a permission request, action approval, or error acknowledgment, the display shifts to signal it. A single tap on the Even R1 companion ring handles simple approvals. Holding the ring or the glasses activates voice input for more specific commands.
What Else Changed in v2.2.0
- Continuous conversations: Even AI now supports ongoing dialogue without repeating a wake-up command
- Export for Conversate records: Users can now export conversation transcriptions
- Export for Translate records: Translation history is now exportable
- Sleep algorithm improvements: Better sleep data accuracy
- Connection stability: General Bluetooth and app connectivity fixes
What This Means for Buyers
Terminal Mode positions the Even G2 as the first smart glasses with a genuine developer workflow use case — not just notifications and AI chat, but real integration with coding tools. Combined with the Even Hub app store launched earlier this month, Even Realities is building the most open smart glasses ecosystem on the market. The G2 starts at $599 and remains the only camera-free smart glasses with a microLED display. Compare all smart glasses in our smart glasses guide.
