Oura has fixed a bug that left Ring 4 and Ring 5 owners using an iPhone with blank Sleep and Readiness information each morning — even though the ring successfully collected heart-rate data overnight. The issue affected users whose rings could recognise a sleep session but failed to display scores in the iOS app.

What Happened

Affected users would wake up to find their Oura app showing heart-rate traces from the night but no Sleep Score, sleep stages, or Readiness Score. The root cause was a sync issue between the ring firmware and the iPhone app that prevented overnight data from being fully processed into scores.

The Fix

  • iOS app version 7.18.2: Oura has published a fix and directs all affected iPhone users to update to this version immediately
  • Firmware fix: A related ring firmware issue that could also remove Readiness information has been separately resolved
  • Android users: Were not affected by this particular bug

What to Do If Scores Are Still Missing

Anyone who continues to see gaps after updating should check that Location Access is enabled for the Oura app (required for Bluetooth sync), force-resync the ring from Settings, and contact Oura support if the issue persists.

What This Means for Buyers

The fast turnaround is a positive sign for Oura's software support, but iPhone-specific bugs have been a recurring theme — this is at least the third iOS-only issue in 2026. If you're weighing an Oura Ring 4 or the newer Ring 5, the tracking hardware remains excellent, but iPhone users should keep their app updated aggressively.
