Pico has cancelled its September 2 Beijing launch event and delayed the Space Pro headset to Q4 2026. The company posted the notice on August 24, citing a late software upgrade that needs additional development time.

What Is the Pico Space Pro?

The Space Pro (previously known as Project Swan) is Pico{"'"}s flagship mixed-reality headset featuring dual 4K Micro-OLED displays at approximately 4,000 pixels per inch — the highest pixel density of any consumer headset announced so far. It uses a dual-chip architecture: a custom XR processor for passthrough and sensor processing, plus a flagship mobile SoC for compute, achieving end-to-end MR latency of just 12 milliseconds.

Pricing and Competition

The Space Pro is expected to cost close to $2,000, positioning it between the Samsung Galaxy XR at $1,799 and the Apple Vision Pro at $3,499. Pico has not confirmed the final retail price, weight, battery design, or initial sales regions.
