Samsung Galaxy XR headset owners are getting one of the most substantial Android XR updates since launch. Rolling out through April 2026, the update addresses several of the biggest early complaints about the $1,799 headset — and adds a major new capability: Android Enterprise support, which makes the Galaxy XR viable for large-scale deployments in healthcare, retail, and corporate training.
What's New for Consumers
- Auto-spatialization — automatically transforms 2D apps, images, and videos into 3D immersive experiences, even for content not designed for XR
- Wall-pinned apps — pin any app to a physical wall for persistent placement, similar to Vision Pro's window snapping
- See-your-own-hands in Home Space — your real hands now appear in passthrough even when using system apps
- Session resume — pick up exactly where you left off after removing the headset
Accessibility Improvements
Google added single-eye tracking for users with vision in only one eye, expanded pointer customization, and a new wall panel alignment tool that improves content placement for users with mobility differences. These matter for expanding the addressable market beyond early adopters.
Enterprise Deployment Support
The headline enterprise feature: full Android Enterprise integration with EMM partners including Microsoft Intune, Samsung Knox Manage, Omnissa Workspace ONE, ArborXR, ManageXR, and SOTI. IT teams can now deploy and manage fleets of Galaxy XR headsets as they would Android phones. Samsung has also committed to 5 years of enterprise security updates.
