Starting At
$1599.99
Samsung has confirmed the Galaxy XR headset will expand beyond its current US and South Korea availability to include the UK, Canada, Germany, and France in 2026. The expansion marks a significant push to establish Android XR as a global spatial computing platform.
What Is the Galaxy XR?
The Samsung Galaxy XR launched in October 2025 at $1,799 — roughly half the price of Apple Vision Pro's $3,499. It runs Android XR, co-developed by Samsung, Google, and Qualcomm, and features some of the sharpest displays in any headset: 3,552 × 3,840 pixels per eye (~29 million total pixels) with a 109-degree horizontal field of view. All Android apps run natively, and Google's AI is deeply integrated.
Why the Expansion Matters
Apple Vision Pro is currently available in 10+ countries. Samsung catching up internationally is critical for Android XR's developer ecosystem — app makers follow users, and users follow availability. The UK and Germany launches in particular give Samsung access to two of Europe's largest tech-savvy consumer markets.
Pricing for New Markets
Pricing hasn't been confirmed for the new markets, but the US $1,799 price converted at current rates suggests UK pricing around £1,499 and EU pricing around €1,699. Samsung hasn't announced an exact launch date beyond "2026." Check our Samsung Galaxy XR review for full specs and hands-on impressions.
