Garmin Q2 2026 Software Update Rolling Out: Recovery Mode, Premium Golf, and Health Status History

Garmin has started rolling out its Q2 2026 software update to smartwatches and cycling computers. The free update includes six new watch features and two new Edge cycling computer features, with the rollout continuing over the coming weeks.

Key New Features

• Recovery Mode: Automatically activates if your watch has trouble powering on, giving you rescue options to recover the device — a first for Garmin watches
• Premium Golf Features: Venu 4, vivoactive 6, and D2 Air X15 now get access to premium golf tools through a Garmin Golf Membership
• Health Status History: New longitudinal tracking of your health metrics over time, letting you see trends across weeks and months
• Instinct 3 additions: New features specific to the Instinct 3 series (details being pushed gradually)
• On-device Edge gear controls: More gear management options directly on Edge cycling computers

Coming Soon: New Hardware

Several Garmin hardware launches are close. The Edge 1060/Edge 1050 Solar have received regulatory approval, pointing to a summer release. Garmin's CIRQA screenless activity tracker is also nearing launch, with Connect+ ecosystem discount codes already live.
