Bloomberg's Mark Gurman has delivered his verdict on Meta's new VR Glasses: they're "exactly what the Apple Vision Pro should have been." In his weekly Power On newsletter published September 27, Gurman argues Meta has solved the two biggest problems that sank Apple's $3,699 headset — weight and price — while keeping most of the same capabilities.

What Apple Is Doing Next

Gurman reports that Apple is "weighing what to do next" with its headset strategy. Separately, reports from 9to5Mac revealed Apple has four prototypes in testing for a new headset project codenamed N224, including one that uses a similar external compute unit approach. A successor isn't expected before late 2028.
