Huawei has launched the Watch D3, the third generation of its medical-grade blood pressure smartwatch, at the company's "Chase the Wild" event in Munich on September 2. The Watch D3 brings ambulatory blood pressure monitoring to a slimmer, more wearable design — and it works around the clock, including while you sleep.

Blood Pressure Monitoring

The Watch D3 uses a mechanical airbag embedded in the wristband that inflates to apply targeted pressure against the wrist. Combined with a high-precision pressure sensor and adaptive algorithm, it delivers medically certified blood pressure readings. The standout feature is 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM), which can automatically take measurements at intervals throughout the day and night — a first for a consumer smartwatch at this thickness.

Design and Display

  • Display: 1.92-inch LTPO AMOLED, 480 × 408 px, up to 3,000 nits peak brightness
  • Thickness: 11.3 mm (down from 13.3 mm on the Watch D2)
  • Weight: 40 grams (aluminum chassis)
  • Connectivity: Bluetooth 6, built-in GPS
  • New wristbands: Softer, more comfortable materials compared to the rigid D2 cuffs

Pricing and Availability

The Huawei Watch D3 is priced at £399.99 in the UK (approximately €450 / $540) and will be available starting September 23 in the UK and Europe. The watch is not currently sold in the US due to Huawei's ongoing trade restrictions.

What Buyers Should Know

The Watch D3 is the most practical medical-grade blood pressure smartwatch available. If you've been waiting for the Apple Watch Series 12's rumored blood pressure feature, note that Apple's approach uses optical sensors for trend notifications — not the cuff-based clinical measurement Huawei offers. For US buyers, the Apple Watch Series 11 ($300) and the upcoming Series 12 remain the best health-tracking options. Compare all smartwatches in our smartwatch guide.
