Samsung's upcoming open-ear earbuds now have a confirmed retail name: Galaxy Buds On. The name surfaced in version 2.2.70 of the Galaxy Wearable app, replacing the earlier "Galaxy Able" codename that first appeared in the app in April 2026.

Launch Timeline

Despite appearing in app code alongside Galaxy Watch 9 and Watch Ultra 2, the Galaxy Buds On have reportedly been delayed multiple times and are not expected to launch at Unpacked on July 22. SamMobile reports the earbuds may slip to a later date, potentially alongside the Galaxy S26 or at a separate event. This means Samsung's July lineup focuses on watches, glasses, and foldable phones.
