Samsung submitted its Sleep Apnea Feature v2.0 for 510(k) clearance in March 2026. The FDA determined the product was substantially equivalent to a legally marketed device on July 20, and Samsung announced the clearance at Galaxy Unpacked on July 22. The feature previously launched on the Galaxy Watch lineup; bringing it to the ring form factor is significant because rings collect more consistent overnight data due to their always-worn comfort.
