Snap's long-awaited AR glasses are finally reaching consumers. The $2,195 Snap Specs — the company's first true consumer AR glasses — have begun shipping to pre-order customers in the US, UK, and France this month. This marks the first standalone see-through AR glasses available to the general public from a major tech company.
What You Get
- Display: Full-color waveguide with 51-degree field of view — wider than most AR competitors
- Processing: Dual Snapdragon chips with on-device compute (no tethered phone required)
- Battery: Up to 4 hours of mixed use, with the charging case providing 4 additional charges for ~20 hours total
- Software: Runs Specs OS with AR lenses, spatial apps, and hand tracking
How They Compare
At $2,195, Snap Specs sit between Meta's Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3 ($449) and Apple's Vision Pro ($3,699). Unlike Ray-Ban Meta, Specs offer a true AR display. Unlike Vision Pro, they're lightweight glasses you can wear outdoors. The Warby Parker Android XR glasses ($799) ship October 14, offering a more affordable alternative with a smaller monocular display. Compare all options in our smart glasses guide.
