Starting At
$399
XREAL has launched a new sub-brand called X by XREAL (xbx), starting with the a01 — a pair of AR display glasses that undercut every XREAL product before it at just $299. The a01 is now available in China, with a US launch confirmed for July 2026.
Key Specs
- 62 grams: The lightest AR display glasses on the market — lighter than the XREAL Air 2 Pro (75g) and Rokid Max (75g)
- 1,600 nits brightness: The brightest AR glasses available, with HDR10 support for vivid outdoor use
- 50-degree field of view: Smaller than the XREAL One Pro's 57° but adequate for entertainment viewing
- 120Hz Micro OLED display: Smooth motion for gaming and video content
- No cameras: Keeps weight down and avoids privacy concerns — pure entertainment focus
- Interchangeable front frames: Swap between transparent and immersive modes, or 3D-print custom accessories
Spatial Anti-Shake Technology
The a01 features a new spatial anti-shake algorithm designed to keep video stable during commutes, flights, and subway rides — addressing a common complaint with display glasses used on the go.
What This Means for Buyers
At $299, the a01 is the most affordable Micro OLED AR glasses from a major brand. It's aimed squarely at travelers, movie watchers, and casual gamers who want a pocket cinema experience without paying $450+ for the XREAL Air 2 Pro or $599 for the XREAL One Pro. The tradeoff is a narrower 50° FOV and no camera — fine for entertainment, limiting for productivity. If you want the fullest AR experience, the One Pro at $599 remains the better choice.
