September 2026 will deliver four major wearable launch events in just 25 days — an unprecedented concentration that will reshape the smartwatch, smart glasses, and earbuds market before fall shopping season hits full stride.

September 4: RayNeo at IFA Berlin

RayNeo kicks off the month by officially launching the iO Smart Glasses ($479) and GT Series AR headsets at IFA 2026. The camera-free iO weighs just 33g and supports Gemini, ChatGPT, and Claude AI. The GT Max offers a 307-inch virtual display for entertainment. RayNeo leads the global consumer AR smart glasses market with 23.7% share by shipment volume.

September 9: Apple "Surprise and Shine" Event

Apple's confirmed September 9 keynote will unveil at least six products including the Apple Watch Series 12 (ceramic case return, potential blood pressure monitoring), Apple Watch Ultra 4 (new health sensors, possible Touch ID), and AirPods 5 (two models with and without ANC). The foldable iPhone Ultra will also debut. Pre-orders are expected September 12.

September 16: Snap Specs Launch Event

Snap hosts its consumer AR glasses launch in Los Angeles at 7 PM ET. The Specs ($2,195) are Snap's first consumer AR glasses with nearly four hours of battery life, available in 47mm and 52mm variants with prescription inserts. Pre-orders require a $200 refundable deposit.

September 23–24: Meta Connect

Meta Connect closes the month with the expected reveal of Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3 smart glasses — two models codenamed "Aperol" and "Bellini" with improved cameras (iPhone 13-level quality), dramatically longer Live AI battery life, and a Snapdragon AR1+ chip. This is the event most likely to set new pricing benchmarks for the smart glasses category.

What Buyers Should Do Right Now

Wait if you can. With this many launches in quick succession, prices on current-gen products will drop and new options will expand. Specifically:

  • Smartwatch buyers: Wait until September 9. The Apple Watch Series 11 and Ultra 3 will see clearance pricing
  • Smart glasses buyers: Wait until September 23. Meta Connect will reveal Gen 3, and Gen 2 prices will fall
  • Earbuds buyers: Wait until September 9. AirPods 5 will launch, and AirPods Pro 3 deals will deepen

The only exception: if you find a deal too good to pass up on current hardware. Browse all options in our smartwatch, smart glasses, and earbuds guides.
